Having a pre-workout drink before hitting the gym has many benefits. It’s not necessary, but it can take your gym performance to the next level. Here are some reasons why having a pre-workout drink will increase your performance…

INCREASED ENERGY LEVELS

A lot of pre-workout drinks contain caffeine – a stimulant that boosts energy and alertness. This can also help combat fatigue and improve your overall workout performance, which, therefore, enables you to train with more intensity.

ENHANCED ENDURANCE

You might also find ingredients like beta-alanine in pre-workout. This helps clear up lactic acid build-up in muscles, in turn, delaying fatigue.

IMPROVED CONCENTRATION

Pre-workout drinks also often contain caffeine or B-vitamins, which increase focus and concentration. This is particularly beneficial for maintaining proper form and concentration during harder exercises.

INCREASED STRENGTH & POWER

Some even contain creatine – known for its ability to enhance strength and power output during resistance training.

IMPROVED RECOVERY

Pre-workout drinks that contain BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids) can support the muscle recovery process by providing the necessary amino acids needed for protein synthesis. Thus, meaning reduced DOMS (delayed onset of muscle soreness) and faster recovery between workouts.

GIVES YOU A CHEEKY PUMP

No more needs to be said.

It must be noted that some of these benefits depend on what type of pre-workout drink you opt for. It’s also dependent on the person – not everyone will see the same benefits of pre-workout. So, have a play, try different ones before you find one that gives you the boost you need.
