Happy National Smoothie Day! There’s no better way to celebrate than by blending up a delicious and nutritious protein smoothie. Smoothies are a fantastic way to pack in essential nutrients, fuel your workouts, and satisfy your taste buds. Today, we’re sharing a delectable protein smoothie recipe that’s perfect for any time of day.

Berry Blast Protein Smoothie

This Berry Blast Protein Smoothie is not only bursting with flavor but also loaded with protein and antioxidants to keep you energized and satisfied. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) – or berry of your choice
  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 150ml of semi-skimmed milk (or almond milk/ oat milk if you prefer)
  • 150g of 0% fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for added sweetness)
  • A handful of ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and make sure your berries are washed and ready to go.
  2. Blend: In a blender, combine the mixed berries, banana, protein powder, milk, Greek yogurt, and honey (if using). Add the ice cubes for a refreshing chill.
  3. Blend until smooth: Blend the ingredients on high until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency. If the smoothie is too thick, add a bit more milk or water until you reach your desired consistency. Personally, I think the thicker, the better.
  4. Enjoy: Pop the smoothie into a glass. If you’re feeling boujee, garnish with a few berries.

Why this smoothie is the best:

  • Protein: The vanilla protein powder and Greek yogurt provide a hefty dose of protein to support muscle recovery and keep you feeling full.
  • It helps boost your immune system: Berries are packed with antioxidants, which help fight inflammation and boost your immune system.
  • Natural sweetness: The banana and optional honey provide natural sweetness without the need for added sugars.

Tips for the Perfect Smoothie

  1. Adjust to taste: Feel free to tweak the ingredients based on your taste preferences. If you like it sweeter, add a bit more honey or use a ripe banana.
  2. Add some greens: For an extra nutrient boost, throw in a handful of spinach or kale.
  3. Prepare: Save time by preparing smoothie packs in advance. Measure out your berries, banana, and chia seeds into a freezer bag. When you’re ready to blend, just add the frozen pack to your blender with the protein powder, yogurt, and milk.

On this National Smoothie Day, take 10 mins out of your day to enjoy a banging smoothie that’s healthy and delicious. Share your smoothies with us on socials.
